0:00 who are you and where are you going what do you [Music] want hello and welcome to people making money I'm your host Kevin bemel and we're here every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Pacific time to talk about all matters related to career professions businesses wealth building that the whole financial
0:36 realm of of our lives and today uh for those of you who saw any of the social media posts or you get my emails you saw that my topic is adapt or founder h f to to founder is is is a Navy term and it means the boat has uh basically sort of uh um gotten swamped and it and it it's not able to move forward the way it's it's meant to and it is interesting uh that this topic happens to be um coming up
1:13 today um if you've been following the news or especially the business news so um the there's been yesterday the big headline in the Wall Street Journal was um this uh well it's it's a headline again today in the Wall Street Journal um deep seek so this is an AI um that was built by China and it's uh it's it's taken the the tech World by storm um because it's able to do what um chat GPT
1:51 and other and other AI models do um but with at at a much much lower cost um because it uses much simpler microchips and uh and and and all of that and so the idea is um that um because the cost of building and using an AI um using this open source model and that's what deep seek is it's an it's open source that means anybody can access it and and and use its code uh it will dramatically
2:28 drive down the cost of of AI and make it more financially feasible uh to adopt so uh what I'm going to be talking about today is some of the ways that I've been using chat GPT in in my business um and and it's been an enormous timesaver that that I I will say that and uh I do find that um the results that I get are very accurate but but I will temper that by
3:04 saying there's a reason why I I can make that assessment that's apart from chat GPT itself so um I I I want to say just a another minute on um deep seek um and that is um you I've I've I've read the the various things about it listened to someone talking about it uh it it just it just seems to me a little bit strange that people are assuming um that it is what it is uh I'm not exactly sure you know
3:41 how they verified that it's running on these inexpensive uh chips as opposed to the the expensive Nvidia design chips that are made by uh Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing I think it is tscm um so I I I I will say I'm I'm still waiting to um have someone who understands more about deep seek than I do explain to me why um we we should believe that it is what it is aside from
4:16 the open sour source code which is is how the AI itself works but um in terms of um how it was built in such I I I I don't know I'm not enough of a a I'm not a coder I'm not enough of a tech tech expert um but I I I have a a certain amount of of natural uh skepticism um my dad was born in uh St Louis Missouri the show me state so maybe I come byy it naturally as they say um but but in any event uh I'm I'm
4:51 GNA be um working with a chat GPT um which is what I've been using now for the last gosh I'm not even sure for probably about a year now um or at least nine months and show you some of the things that that that I've done with it that have been real timesavers to me I guess the you know the term dour is is is hacks but uh I I don't know you know for for my generation a hack was someone who doesn't really H do a good job so I I don't I tend not to use that term
5:26 so I'm going to go ahead and share my screen bring up uh chat GPT so uh you should be seeing and I'm GNA I'm gonna open it up here so there you go so okay so this this is uh you know this is the basic chat GPT now I use the free version of chat GPT I've never paid a penny for for for using it um and you can see some of the past things I've done here uh and and I I use it a lot especially in planning and and
6:03 writing my various shows because it's it's like having a staff writer basically only one that can write and type super super fast so um so and and you you see here here is where you put in essentially your query and you can have it create an image now I've I've tried the image Creator a few times but what it it it it creates sort of almost Avatar type images I haven't found them useful at all uh in any of the things that I've done um for example I I asked it to
6:40 create a logo um for an organization um that that I'm building frankly didn't didn't like the results tried several different ways of of querying to get the image I want it didn't work ended up uh designing the image myself on canvas so um you know make a plan so um one of the ways that I've used uh chat GPT um that's been very useful is in coming up with topics for my particular show so uh
7:15 I do a show on uh trust and Estates every Monday at 10: a.m. and one of the queries I did quite some time ago were um you know please give me 20 any ideas on uh topics related to oops and and by the way you actually don't have to spell correctly for it it pretty much figures it out topics related to uh probate and trusts okay and and then that's all you do and now it's going to spit out so probate
7:51 you know what is a probate how to avoid probate so it's going to give it's going to give a list of 20 okay um well I guess it's going to give 10 on on each and um and and you will note by the way if you were to go back to my uh various shows that I did um you will see that this these lists that it's given um I've covered uh I think all of these uh topics now not necessarily under the name that they've described them um but
8:28 um but you know covered all of these various issues so you can see that it's it's you know very effective in coming up with uh you know in in this case topics that are you know highly relevant to the subject at hand right so in fact just this week I did a second show on Special Needs Trust for example I've done things on uh asset protection how to fund a trust so i' all of the you know trustee responsibilities um and I've done one on
9:04 trust versus will revocable vers is versus irrevocable living trust so um all of these TOS I think I just saw one I I I've never done one on Dynasty trusts um um so there you go it it found a topic that I hadn't done one on uh but it's very useful if you're doing that kind of planning um and and uh you know and then you if if you want more you can say you know please uh give me you know 20 more okay
9:42 oops I put more but it's it's gonna here you go see 20 more okay and and and there see it's just gonna it's just gonna like spit them out um okay and and and again if you look at these um so uh you know what happens to digital assets and probate I've done a show on that uh joint joint ownership how does that work um probate versus nonprobate assets I've done a show on that I've done a show on the on the role of probate courts right so again it's
10:17 coming up with topics that are very relevant um okay and uh pour over wills and trusts okay um how Medicaid trust can protect so um I've done some of these as well so uh from from the standpoint of of planning it's it's you know very very uh efficient okay so let's go back to the so um analy gages I've never I've never done any coding because I I don't I don't know how to code so I guess I could say you know write a code to do the following um but
10:53 I do something um not not unlike that so and here's some you know okay so here's one summarize text or help me write these are two that I use quite a bit so in my show business lessons from the military um periodically I talk about classic military texts and that I've read and distill from them business lessons so so for example I did a show on The Art of War by Sun Su perhaps the best known military text in history and
11:31 I I've I've read the book now here's here's where I was talking about how uh uh you know being able to know if jat chat GPT is accurate I wouldn't just simply rely on chat GPT per se so so for example when I I it's somewhere here in the list but rather than going through it I'll um I'll just put the query back in so you can can see how quickly it works um so what are the uh key business lessons one can learn
12:11 from uh from Sun sues The Art of War okay now it's going to spit them out okay okay and and now how do you how do I know that this is accurate right because sometimes um you know chat GPT will in essence make stuff up okay so um
12:46 the way I know that it's accurate is because I've read the book okay and so I know what the book has you know talks about and so um in in um in reviewing what chat GPT has done because I have read the book so I I I know whether it's giving me an accurate summary now why use chat GPT to do the summary or just to pull out ideas because it can do it much it can type faster than I can right let alone you
13:23 know distill out from the book if if I had to um do this myself it would take me probably the better part of two hours whereas chat GPT did it in you know a minute or less right and so that's where it's such a timesaver and and be is such a such a a valuable tool okay and it is it it is very good at sifting out ideas so here's um here's another book that I I've just uh recently finished reading and um well
13:59 I'm I'm I'm actually I've got another 60 pages to go but I'm reading the bostonians by Henry James okay classic work of literature from the late 19th century I think it was written in 1886 and it's it's about the it's about the interplay of people um some of whom were were very committed to um uh expanding rights for women and one of whom was um was was was not basically so it's the clash between those two camps
14:36 if you will okay and so um if if I wanted to I could get the the key uh the key ideas or the the key what are the key you know points made oops in uh Henry James's uh the bostonians and I'm I'm a stickler for spelling but I wouldn't have had to have corrected the spelling right okay and okay yeah 1886
15:17 okay okay and you can see them here now having read the book again I can I know whether uh you know these these points are accurate so the conflict between old and new America the novel contrasts traditional Southern conservatism represented by Bassel Ransom with Northern Progressive ideals embodied by Oliver Chancellor and her feminist Associates and that's that's absolutely 100% accurate okay uh feminism and women's rights olive olive Chancellor is deeply involved in the woman's movement and becomes obsessed with Verina tant
15:53 whom she shapes into a powerful feminist speaker uh again Absolut Ely correct personal versus political struggles the central struggle is not just ideological but it's personal all of sees Vina as a disciple while basil Ransom sees her as a romantic partner the fight over Vina represents the larger societal debate over women's roles again spoton manipulation and control both Olive and basil exert control over Verina raising questions about power dynamics and relationships whether personal or
16:30 political again absolutely accurate ambiguity and I anyway so on I'm not I'm not going to go through all of it but it's you know if if you um and and you know for for high school students and such this would probably be be considered cheating right but the reality is uh you know if if if you are a teacher and maybe you read the bostonians you know 20 years ago or 10 years ago and and uh you know you don't have time to reread the book uh you know
17:05 chat GPT will give you a summary of the key points that the book makes and then if you give your students an assignment to to read to read the book and write an essay summarizing the key points well so then here you've got a list of seven uh you know that that you can use in order to determine um you know how how how well the essays were written and again saves you tremendous amount of time right um if you had to reread the book and write
17:41 this list yourself um you know you're the book is about 400 pages long at least the addition I have so you're talking right there depending on how fast you read somewhere between 10 and 15 to 20 hours to read it and then probably another hour or two to summarize the ideas from it and and I dare say that the way chat GPT summarizes these ideas is it's so tight it's so concise and it's so point it's so point on point that um one would be hardpressed to write this in a first draft um rather this is probably
18:18 something that would come from a second or third draft minimum okay so its ability to to summarize a book or or or for that matter you know I've never try this here let's let's try something different um please summarize the oops the Wall Street journals article about um deep seek let's um
18:54 article um on uh 28 January 2025 about deep seek let's just see what we get here see if it'll do it okay there you go I mean it's it's wild right um and okay so it this is it's a deep sequence devel am the rivals talk lower cost without the need for most so okay so it's telling you you know exactly what what I just told you a few minutes ago the Breakthrough has raised concerns about the effectiveness of us Imports on
19:30 Tech okay that's true um the article also uh discusses how deep ceas advancement Le to a sell-off in US Stocks yes the especially Nvidia lost like 17% of its market capitalization when the news about deep 6 broke right um in response to deep sixes progress use policy makers are debating whether to maintain or tighten export restrictions on Technologies like semiconductors etc etc okay so um this is a this is a good summary and and evidently it did have this is one of my concerns is did it would it have uh
20:05 access to the article or because uh the Wall Street Journal has much of its content behind a firewall uh but but evidently it does so so again you know if if if and the article by the way is much longer than this so if you don't have time to read it you know another another good use for for chat GPT is to have it summarize items in the news um so that you can read about them more quickly without having to read the whole article now I I I will say that uh you know you need to keep an eye on the uh
20:42 Publications from which it's it's drawing its new source so that you have a sense of what kind of bias there is um in the uh you know in in the particular uh in those sources and in the summary that chat GPT May be writing so for example Wall Street Journal um people think of it as being a conservative publication um and and certainly the opinion page um is right of Center uh but the news page and and this article was in the news page um and
21:18 and that part of the Wall Street Journal is is left of center to in some cases pretty far left of center right so uh you know what we might do is um is is um uh compare this to Fox news's uh reporting on deep seek so let's see what it says for that and
21:54 okay so there you go it gives and and and so and and this this is again this G this you could use it and you could put in uh you know the different news sources um that you want and it'll essentially give you a summary of uh you know of that particular issue and in this case and this is what it'll do sometimes it'll give you two versions and you can let it know which one you prefer and that will train chat GPT to better give you what
22:32 you want right so this one right here um it's looking at what was said on Fox News Fox News Radio Fox news.com Fox new foxnews.com okay over here um it starts out with the Wall Street Journal okay and then it gives you the New York Post Fox Business News okay so I don't know I think for me I would prefer this one because it gives me more sources um a big a broader variety of sources right um and and and it says you know in Fox's Fox news's coverage of deep seek has
23:08 been more critical and cautionary um Palmer lucky expressed skepticism over there you go over deep six's deep seeks claims suggesting us made media uncritically reported the company's assertion and warning against potential CCP that's um uh basically the Chinese Communist Party propaganda design to undermine uh American tech companies so there was that point that I raised um a little you know at the beginning of the show right so as a news aggregator that will cover you know the items in the
23:45 news that you specifically want to know about um again chat GPT I think does does a great job okay so summarizing um you know uh Gathering uh in you know information from various sources and giving you a cogent right up of them that is uh one of the things that chat GPT is is quite good at okay so I I promised three uh times Savers I've actually I'm actually going to do four because I didn't I
24:20 didn't plan on doing the planning one that I started out with uh but but I went ahead and did that as a freebie so okay so that's okay so now let's go back to um uh the beginning uh and the next one I want to show you is um so on on Thursdays every other Thursday I do a show called jigger's place it's it's at five 5:00 pm on Thursday right Shameless plugs um every and and it'll be this week uh I'll be I'll be doing the show um I'm going to be talking about uh the book ivanho okay which is a a wonderful
24:57 Adventure Tale written by Sir Walter Scott okay and and I can assure you um I will be using chat GPT to write a summary of the book for me because again it'll do it in a minute um versus um you know the the you know hour or two that it would take me to do it um but where I use uh uh chat GPT um most often um in in my show in my show jigger's place anyway is it is my
25:34 cocktail Creator so it designed a cocktail let's see if I can find it here okay here you go so I asked it to write uh to not write so I said um here please create a cocktail reminiscent of Ivan home I misspelled Ivan just R right and it it created something called The ivanho Elixir right and it starts out with single malt scotch whiskey now that relates to the
26:11 fact that Ivano takes place in Scotland it adds to it Mead or honey wine nodding to the Medieval Times adds some dyve verth for elegance and complexity we're talking about uh Knights and chivalry and castles and and and uh the aristocracy in England all of that okay some fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors okay some angusta bitter for depths and spice and I don't know about you but I always think of of the the you know the the Scottish moors and the
26:46 highlands and the lowlands they have sort of a a spicy sense to them right and a sprig of rosemary to evoke The Woodlands of England there you go so um this sounds to me like it's going to be a nice cocktail interestingly enough this is the first cocktail it's designed for me or created for me that uses Scotch whiskey um as a base um often times it uses uh Jin or or um some of I think it used rum now so let's let's have it design a cocktail for us so um
27:25 please create a cocktail that is evocative of evocative of uh AI using let's make it a tequila cocktail and you can tell it to you to you know um oops not unsing using um using tequila as its base so you in this case you know we'll we'll we'll have it
28:00 make a tequila based cocktail so let's see what it comes up with okay so here's a futurist tequila based cocktail inspired by AI Sleek complex and full of unexpected depth okay there you go so uh okay so this this is what it came up with two ounces of of Silver Tequila okay so that that's you know the base tequila crisp clean base a half ounce of blue blue curaco evoking circuits and neon Aesthetics so blue curaco has a an almost neon blue appearance so if you
28:37 put it in Tequila it's it's going to make it a a bright blue color okay uh a half ounce of italicus or elderflower lure okay um for for complexity some lime juice for a bright acid um acidity a quar ounce of agave syrup it'll it kind of there's a sweetness to Agave of course and and it gives it a smooth balance and then a dash of saline solution words saltwater basically to enhance flavors and then one small piece of dry ice optional for futuristic effect now if you're familiar with how dry ice works right if you drop it into
29:14 a liquid it starts to to bubble and and and and um blow off uh a steam basically right and it looks like if you know those those pictures of Laboratories where uh you know mad scientists are doing things right so um I think this looks this looks pretty good it sounds I think it so um it's it's not unlike a margarita it's gon to have the same SI similar flavors so a margarit as you may be aware is tequila an orange
29:50 lur of some kind um it could be just um Triple Sec which is an orange lur it could be um uh quantro which is an a French orange based lure blue curaca is also an orange-based lure right so it's got the first two ingredients of a margarita and lime juice is the other ingredient for a margarita now in this case there's a little bit of this elder flour lure um I don't know what Elder flour lur tastes like I haven't been able to find a
30:25 kosher one um but but certainly this this is going to be reminiscent of of a margarita it's the the Agave um will will give a little sweetness to it so it's kind of like a futuristic Margarita perhaps um so you know um you know Well Done chat GPT on you know designing cocktails now um my bartender friends would probably poo poo this um and and and you know they they would say well you know chat
31:00 GPT has no sense of taste so it doesn't know how it's going to combine all these things and whether it's going to taste good um that is true um I've had pardon me chat GPT design I want to say maybe about 10 cocktails for me um over the last several months and I will say that they've ranged from uh good to outstanding okay none of them have been bad so um now if you if if you know how an AI works really what these are they're
31:36 called large language models and what they do is they gather data from basically everywhere in the internet that they can find and they figure out in essence what is the next most likely word after they give you whatever word it is so um it's not surprising that when I asked for it a a a cocktail using tequila that what it came up with is similar to a a a margarita uh with you know some other
32:12 things that are evocative of AI right and and by the way you know a tequila is a very simple cocktail classic cocktail uh pretty hard to mess it up um and and so um you know it's it's using um very common models than it's cocktail models that it's then modifying a little bit and so I think that's why I've found that it it it creates consistently good to very good even outstanding Cocktails so if youve if
32:48 you've ever watched jigger's place you'll you'll you see my reaction to the various cocktails because I don't make them ahead of the show I make them for the first time on the show so that you can get my uh you know genuine uh reaction to the quality of the cocktail and you'll see there's somewh I I have trouble putting it down um and others where you know I I I I sip it through through the show and it's it's good but you know it's it's not one that you know I can't put down okay so as a designer for cocktails if you're if you're gonna have a party let's say at the office and
33:24 you want to do something unique in in terms of cocktail or food so so let's try so let's say you're a law firm so um uh I I'm always polite with chat GPT I don't know why I guess it's you know because my mother please give me some uh food ideas for a party by a law firm okay uh so so there you go appetizers and finger foods okay so
34:01 these are all uh okay so these are all kind of standard things there you know they they already um you know they already exist okay and then there you go it's giving you ideas for beverages okay now let's now uh please create a um an order okay an we'll call it an appetizer an appetizer that uh
34:37 evokes uh evokes the um the balance of of Justice uh the balance of Justice um okay please create an appetizer please create here I'm going to make it a a a vegetarian appetizer that evokes the balance of Justice there you go okay scales of Justice a balance there you go
35:13 right and and there it is and it created it for you right so this elegant appeti SYM of balance by pairing contrasting yet complimentary flavors and textures uh each serving features two distinct elements on a single skewer or plate okay so ingredients Savory side mini puff pastry squares or crustini whipped go cheese or cashew cheese for a vegan option roasted balsamic glazed mushrooms and micro greens for garnish and then the sweet side fresh pears pear slic or figs a honey drizzle toasted walnuts or candy pecans blue cheese crumbles okay
35:50 and then it shows you how to assemble them create the base place a mini puff pastry squirk on one side uh and a fresh pear or fig on the other balance the topping so it explains to you how to do it so see you can make it your catering designer as as well this is the first time I asked it to design food uh but um I think it's very clever on how it comes up these now um are these going to taste good yeah I think they are so for example um whipped goat cheese and pears or figs I've had that before really good
36:27 right roasted balsamic glazed mushrooms frankly sounds delicious um and I could imagine those uh mixed with some uh toasted walnuts or or or candy pecans because the um the B balsamic glaze will go well with with these nuts um and they would probably work well with the blue shees crumbles as well right so um you you can see that that you know how however chat GPT created these um they they they did a nice job and and it's
37:04 something that you could count on uh that that I think you know you're your a guest at your party would really like so I know we we passed the holiday season already last month but you know if if you really want to do something um uh different so chat GPT can help you with that so it's a great creator for things like cocktails appetizers I'm sure it would even create recipes for you um if you asked it to okay so that's number three now I'm going to do one more okay
37:39 and I don't know why I just want to come on let's there you go okay now um this is one and and if you saw my show uh a week or two ago where I talked about a new way to uh build relationships um Based on data so um over last year I substantially revamped the way that um I look at the quality of my relationships and I
38:14 developed a whole system for for not only determining the quality of the relationships I have but to incentivize me to build higher quality relationships um going forward and it's it and a lot of it is based on a kind of a rating scale that uh relates to the uh three pillars of attainment okay so um if you are working on any kind of um Excel spreadsheet um one of the things I
38:51 found is Excel is an enormously powerful tool but you have to know how to build the formulas and doing so through the Excel help function can take forever so what I discovered is chat GPT will write an Excel formula for virtually if you can come up with with what you want Excel to figure out um chat GPT
39:27 will create the formula and you'll be able to copy and paste it right into your ex Excel spreadsheet so the example I'm going to do here uh is is is for a teacher let's say that you're a teacher grading papers okay and um you know you you you want to you're going to grade maybe on on on a scale okay so um um um please
40:02 build an Excel formula as follows um 0 to 40 uh gives and gives an F uh 41 to let's say 60 gives a d okay uh 61 oops not 6001 61
40:39 to 280 uh gives uh C and let's see where am I okay so 81 to 990 uh gives a B and 91 to 100 gives an A okay let's see let's see what it comes up
41:16 with okay now right here see it lets you copy the formula okay and let me get a I'm going to get an Excel spreadsheet oops where is it here we go okay so I'm gonna paste this I'll actually let me do it another way I'm going to bring up a uh um um a Google doc spreadsheet
42:03 okay sheets let's see oh here we go blank spreadsheet okay um excuse me now let me just I'm going to drop the formula in okay so I'm going to I'm going to switch out so you can see the Google you can see how it developed the formula okay so now let's I'm going to bring up the other screen so you can see the Google Google spreadsheet here we
42:42 go okay so here's the spreadsheet now here you'll see here's the formula that that chat gp2 created okay so if you want if if you were making a grade sheet this would be grade okay this would be score oops okay oh okay um I see all right so what I need to do is is modify it so uh B2 is is
43:17 what B2 okay so the A1 is where it's taking the the score from so um that just needs to be um updated okay otherwise it's a okay there you go okay so um so you've got the grade you've got the score okay and there you go okay okay let's say um and and and by
43:52 the way you could put in of course the student's name um I'm not going to worry about that okay so let's say they one student got a score of 66 okay see it gave you a c now what you can do you know for your grade sheet is let's say you've got 36 students so you should be able to fill down this is this is why I don't like I I don't like Google Docs because uh it's not as useful
44:29 as uh I guess there is no fill fil fill up or down function here cut paste delete find view okay well um if you were doing this on Excel so let's oops okay so um if you were doing this on Excel you wouldn't have to do this for each oops shoot you wouldn't have to do this for each each cell um but I I can't get it so okay so then um so so now you have let's say you just have 10
45:05 we'll do 10 students okay and let's say another student got a score of 88 and another student got a score of 79 and another student got a score of 36 okay and uh 95 and um uh 49 and 23 and 70 and uh 23 okay so oh I I did 23 twice okay whatever um so you can see that but
45:40 when you put in the scores it automatically creates the grade so um if you were to set up your grade sheet as an Excel spreadsh sheeet right all you need to do is fill in the scores and now the grade sheet is done and again you've saved it now this is actually a fairly um simple thing for it to do um but any kind of oh know those are alignment okay any kind of calculation set of calculations you want
46:15 it to do chat GPT will write the formula okay now and by the way if if um I'm I'm not going to go back to chat GP but um uh you could if you want to then um um please give me a formula to calculate the average of several numbers okay so let's say you want um you know you wanted to C calculate the average okay so um it created the
46:53 formula okay I'm going to bring it over here okay and I'm going to I'm going to paste it okay now you can see it it's A1 through A5 that's not where it is we need B2 uh we we need to put in B2 B2 to um B10 and there you go it g it you know it gave you the formula for doing that and you know an interest as I think about it as much as I've used um you know uh Excel spreadsheets I've never I never
47:29 knew that you could just use this function a equals average for the group of numbers right it makes it certainly makes sense it just I never knew that you could do that right so um that that works it's you know works out really well really fast to do that rather than um scrolling through all of the uh potential formulas um that that you know you can um you can do in um in Excel um in in less than a minute
48:05 chat GPT will write the formula for it and you just click copy you insert it into your spreadsheet and you're done so it it it really unleashes the power of Excel and I now I I to be honest I haven't tried it for other software programs uh but my for my money uh chat GPT is the best software user guide you will ever ever find okay and and the reality is um you the proof is going to be in the
48:40 pudding so if it if it if what what chat GPT generates does what you need it to do then chat GPT is did it right you don't have to worry about oh it picked up some data or gave you some kind of something that turned out to be false you're going to know whether it's false or not um and and because you were you know you'll see if it's meeting the criteria for writing the formula that you know that you input so so those are the I I said three in in my in my promo but those are my four uh Time Savers for chat GT
49:16 GPT I I cannot encourage you enough to start using this tool people who use it are going to become much more productive and they are going to have a competitive advantage that's that's all there is to it uh I mean I don't know your individual businesses so it's it's I can't say for sure if any of the specific examples I've given you will apply to your to you what you do or to your profession but start all I did was I just started playing with chat GPT and
49:51 and and just making queries and gosh I wonder if it can do this I wonder if it can do that um I used it just uh yesterday I believe it was so I'm one of the probate cases that I'm working on um we a judge denied a petition and I had been told by uh one of the lawyers involved that I had a as a as a as the personal representative of the estate I had a statutory right to petition for what I petitioned for um and I I assumed
50:28 that the lawyer was correct I didn't ask him to cite the probate code section went to chat GPT said what's the probate codes California probate code section that um allows uh for the following the in this case it was a a waiver of of the apprais of an appraisal by a probate referee and it gave me the uh probate code section 8903 Part B and it and and it listed out the uh criteria that a request for waiver uh
51:05 had to meet um and frustratingly enough um the petition I had submitted met all of those qualifications in Spades um except for the judge agreeing to it so um you know but but that gave me the confidence to go back to the lawyer and say okay because of what's going on um we the judge gave us leave to uh resubmit the petition because she denied it without prejudice which means we can refile it so now we have to do it because there's there's new facts that have come alive so chat GPT is is kind
51:42 of my um my my my law clerk I I wouldn't say it's my pargal per se I've never had tried to have it write a legal document although I I suspect it could do a pretty good job um my maybe my legal researcher is is better and it's not the first time I've I've used chat GPT to do some legal research now I always double check when chat GPT quotes a a like a section of a statute I go to the statute and uh look up and and to see if
52:18 what chat GPT told me is indeed what the statute is there um because then I know the the basis that it's drawing from is is correct so I do do that double check but that's a lot faster than pouring through in this case the probate code trying to find that particular issue in the probate code so again chat GPT is a timesaver it's a productivity booster and I cannot encourage you enough to start using it so that's what I have for you today on people making money hope you enjoyed it thoughts comments
